3 fun facts

-My first job (age 13) was working for my dad as a janitor at his Optometry practice. My first real job at age 16 was at a meat packer plant taking 50 pound beef boxes out of freezers and loading them into customers’ cars for $1.60 per hour. That job lasted until I got the job I really wanted at a major burger joint at $1.00 per hour. But free food meant I got burgers and fries too, and that seemed a step forward!

-I held that job and worked 50-70 hours a week through the rest of high school, college with two degrees, and getting married. Oh, and then I got into medical school and finished in 2 years, 364 days before completing General Surgery residency and Plastic Surgery fellowship at the Mayo Clinic.

-I love wristwatches, but my grandpa was a jeweler, optician, and watchmaker. Full circle, two generations!
